Mercedes-Benz’s iconic G-Class SUV has long been known for its off-road capability and luxury status. Over the years, it has evolved from conquering rugged terrain to dominating city streets as a symbol of prestige for celebrities worldwide. Now, as the automotive industry embraces the era of electric mobility, Mercedes-Benz introduces the fully electric G580 with EQ technology, marking a monumental shift toward sustainability without compromising performance or luxury.

What’s new?

The G580 with EQ technology marks a new era for Mercedes-Benz, introducing an all-new model for the brand in 2025. Expected to arrive on roads in late 2024 or early 2025, it preserves the timeless boxy shape of its predecessors while opening a new chapter of eco-friendly adventure.

Pricing and Edition One configuration

With an expected starting price of around €170,000, the electric G-Class sets a high standard for electric luxury SUVs. In its launch year, the G-Class EV will be available exclusively as the Edition One, which includes premium AMG Line and Night packages, a striking two-tone interior, and the Active Multicontour Seat Plus package with eight massage programs.

EV power and performance

The electric G-Class is powered by four electric motors, strategically positioned near each wheel, producing an impressive 579 horsepower and 1,165 Nm of torque. This electric drivetrain allows individual motor control, unlocking innovative off-road capabilities such as G-Turn for 360-degree rotation and G-Steering for improved maneuverability. With virtual differential locks and torque vectoring, the electric G-Class maintains its legendary all-terrain performance, while its robust chassis ensures durability on every adventure.

Fast charging and range

The electric G-Class features a 116 kWh battery, offering a range of approximately 390 km on a single charge. Charging is convenient thanks to DC fast-charging capability, allowing the battery to reach 80% capacity in just 32 minutes when using a 200 kW charger. Special underbody protection ensures the battery remains protected on rugged terrain.

Luxury interior

Step inside the G580 EV and you’re welcomed by a luxurious cabin finished in premium Nappa leather and customizable ambient lighting. The latest MBUX infotainment system, displayed across dual 12.3-inch screens, offers wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and augmented navigation. Off-road enthusiasts will appreciate the Offroad Cockpit, which provides essential data for confidently tackling rough terrain.

Equipped with a comprehensive suite of standard driver assistance systems, the electric G-Class ensures safety remains a top priority on every journey. From automatic emergency braking to lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control with lane centering, these advanced technologies work seamlessly to enhance driver confidence.
