Porsche is lately on a roll, with a new car unveiled almost every week. After some quite interesting 911 variants, mainly the new GT3 Touring and GTS, we wander off into a SUV territory. Ladies and gentleman, this is Porsche Cayenne Turbo Coupe GT, the fastest and most powerfull SUV, Porsche has ever made.
It offers the same 4.0 liter twin turbo engine as the Cayenne Turbo Coupe, but with 90 extra horsepower, and 80 extra Nm of torque. All that extra power did not come with a remap only. Engine got new crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods, timing chain and torsional dampers. That means you are now getting a full 640 HP and 850 Nm which is enough to make a dash to 100 km/h in just 3,3 seconds. Top speed is said to be 305 km/h but most importantly, this SUV broke the all time SUV world record, for the fastest time around the famous Nurburgring’s north loop. With a time of 7 minutes and 38,9 seconds it bested the previous record set by Audi RS Q8, which is actually a toned down Lamborghini Urus in desquise.
This Turbo GT trim will only be available in the ‘Coupe’ bodystyle. For starters it sits about 25mm lower than the regular Cayenne Turbo Coupe, with suspension and electronically controlled chassis systems being developed specifically for this vehicle. Formentioned air suspension is also 15% stiffer with the dampers also being retuned.
You will also find a revamped power steering, rear axle steering and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) which reduces body roll and improves turn in. Besides the faster eight speed PDK transmission and a speciall 22 inch Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, which are 25mm wider at the front than on the regular Cayenne Turbo Coupe, you will also find porsches carbon ceramic brakes as standard. For the finnishing touch Porsche put a titanium sports exhaust on the car, which in itself saves around 20 kg.
On the inside buyers get the latest PCM 6.0 infotainment, eight way sport seats with special trim in the front and just two seats in the back. Besides a yellow center stripe on the steering wheel and some embroidery on the headrests, there really isn’t much else.
